Democratic schools

This is the website for Summerhill School, founded in 1921, "a co-educational boarding school in Suffolk, England, is the original alternative 'free' school". The school follows a democractic model based on a strong sense of community, where classes are optional and all students participate equally with staff in regularly held school meetings. The school's late founder, A.S. Neill, is the author of the book Summerhill: A Radical Approach to Childhood.
